During the period of your studies, reflect on your performance against the plan, including learning gained from each unit of your qualification, and add reflective comments to the plan. As you progress, identify any further development needs and revise your plan accordingly.

AC 3.5 learning your CPD Record AND your ‘updated’ CPD Plan
CPD which stands for Continuing Professional Development, It refers to the process of tracking and documenting the skills, knowledge and experience that you gain both formally and informally as you work, beyond any initial training. This is a good record kept on your experience, the different things you learn and then apply. Some institutions would use it in the pretext to mean a training or a development plan which sometimes could not be strictly accurate. I can argue that CPD is a process of recording and reflecting on personal learning and development since it helps one to manage his/ her own development on an ongoing basis. It helps reflect on what one learns. Some people could confuse it with a tick document but on the contrary no, it’s broader than that.
For effective practitioners, they need to father their skills, knowledge and behaviors by accessing and reflecting on their progress by a personal means which is the online self-assessment tool. Those tool helps the practitioners to turn the recommendations provided to their own goals, objectives or even development plans.
From the studies which have been carried out on the people who keep their progress on the CPD, it has shown that the people who plan clear objectives, monitor their progress, act and reflect on the same have a higher capability to effectively develop themselves and advance their carrier better then those who don’t.
The CPD is a tool that virtually enhances one’s knowledge, skills and behaviors and developing on the same to become more effective in your professional role since it keeps someone committed to keep up to date and help in sell-improvement since it keeps motivating individuals to stay on track with their targets and the developments. In simple terms, we can say that CPD keeps on encouraging on to take control on ones learning and development and hence in large it contribute to the entire organizational success.
While joining CPD one has to keep in mind the very most requirements which include; reflection and action.
Reflection is the act of focusing on the progress of oneself under the basis of what went well, what did not, your own personal developments and what is needed to an action on the places that did not go well as well as what went well but now on the basis of what could make it more better than the way it was next time. This is where one helps in development. To ensure a good development on the same, share your experience with your friends or working mates. This could build your mind up by collecting new ideas and such.
Action on the other hand is the act of setting targets, timescales for achievements, the needed resources development and support needed.
The benefits of CPD are that it:
