Individual Health Policy Research Review Paper (15%):
Each student is required to select one U.S. public-sector health policy or an international health policy to do research. You may use a policy mentioned in the textbook, but is not limited to. Name the policy and its major components. What was the impetus for this policy? How was it formulated, modified, and implemented? Explain what its effects have been so far and whether or not you think it is a successful policy. The structure of the research paper is as follows:
• Introduction: introduce a health-related policy and provide a background of key issues or problems that the policy change was designed
• Methods: present major components of the policy, and how the policy was formulated, modified, and implemented
• Discussion: discuss the impacts/effects of the policy and whether it is successful or not from your perspective
The paper will be graded based on quality of content, evidence of an appropriate level of research, the application of class materials to this assignment, and critical analytic abilities. Quality of your term paper also means your work must demonstrate correct grammar, punctuation and word usage and use of correct APA citation and formats with no plagiarism. Your paper should be supported by scholarly sources (at least 3 peer-reviewed articles). The research paper should be no more than seven (7) pages double-spaced, not including a title page and a reference page.
